GolfTeeFlow vs GolfEventHQ: Golf Course Event Software Compared

GolfEventHQ costs less: $99.99 per event or $1,299 a year. GolfTeeFlow costs $199 per event credit or $2,400 a year. In exchange, GolfTeeFlow adds an iPhone player app, a dedicated TV leaderboard display, sponsor logos on the leaderboard, leagues, and an optional tee sheet. Neither one collects player money. Both annual plans pay off at 13 events a year.
GolfTeeFlow is ours, so weigh that. We built this comparison only from GolfEventHQ's public pages, checked October 2026, and from GolfTeeFlow's confirmed features. We list the limits of both. We found no independent reviews or trade-press coverage of either product, so there's no outside ranking to point to.
How do GolfTeeFlow and GolfEventHQ handle payments?
The two tools work the same way here, and it's the first thing most courses ask about.
Neither tool takes your players' or sponsors' money. GolfEventHQ says it "tracks payment status instead of collecting card payments from golfers." Staff mark each entry "Paid Externally, Paying at Check-In, or Refunded Externally" (GolfEventHQ docs, checked Oct 2026). Golfers "do not pay through the registration form" (registration docs).
GolfTeeFlow works the same way. Your course collects by cash, Cash App, Venmo, or your own Stripe or payment link, and GolfTeeFlow tracks who has paid (GolfTeeFlow FAQ).
So neither tool takes a cut of entry fees or sponsor money. The subscription is the whole platform cost. Any card fees come from whatever processor you already use. And if you want card checkout built into the software, neither one offers it.
What does GolfEventHQ cost compared with GolfTeeFlow?
GolfEventHQ is cheaper at every event count. Here are the posted prices:
GolfEventHQ: free planning before launch, a $99.99 one-time Event Pass per event, or $1,299 a year for Golf Club Unlimited (pricing and plans and billing, checked Oct 2026).
GolfTeeFlow: a $199 per event credit, $2,400 a year for unlimited events, or a free course listing. The tee sheet is optional and comes only with the annual plan.
The break-even point is the same for both. On GolfEventHQ, 12 passes cost $1,199.88, and 13 cost $1,299.87, just over the annual price. On GolfTeeFlow, 12 credits cost $2,388, and 13 cost $2,587. So on either product, buy per event if you run fewer than 13 events a year, and go unlimited at 13 or more.
| Events a year | GolfTeeFlow (cheapest option) | GolfEventHQ (cheapest option; posted prices, checked Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $199 | $99.99 |
| 6 | $1,194 | $599.94 |
| 12 | $2,388 | $1,199.88 |
| 13 or more | $2,400 (unlimited) | $1,299 (unlimited) |
GolfTeeFlow costs about twice as much per event and about 1.85 times as much for unlimited. A few other costs are worth knowing. GolfEventHQ's AI Event Planner uses paid AI tokens, about 10 per answer, and the token price isn't posted (plans and billing). Its passes and subscriptions are "sold on a non-refundable basis," including a pass that "lapses unused after its validity period" (terms, updated Sept 18, 2026). The terms don't say how long that period is.
Do golfers need an app for GolfTeeFlow or GolfEventHQ?
Not with either tool.
GolfEventHQ is browser-only by design. Its homepage says "No app for golfers," and teams score by scanning the QR code on their cart sign. GolfEventHQ also scores offline. Players "open your scorecard once while you still have a signal," and scores sync later (live scoring docs). That's a real advantage on courses with weak cell coverage.
GolfTeeFlow offers both. Golfers can score in a phone browser through the scorecard QR code with no app. Or they can use TeePlayer, our free iPhone app, which also covers signup, the leaderboard, a non-GHIN handicap, side games, memberships, and the member card. There's no Android app, so Android players use the browser. GolfTeeFlow scoring also works offline.
Which one fits depends on your field. A one-time charity crowd may never download anything. Regulars who play your course every week may like having an app.
How do the leaderboards and sponsor tools compare?
Leaderboards. GolfEventHQ has a public Live Leaderboard page that refreshes every 30 seconds. You can "share the link, or put it on a clubhouse screen," and print final results (leaderboard docs). No separate TV mode is described. GolfTeeFlow puts each event's live leaderboard in TeePlayer, on a public page, and on a TV or clubhouse display. Players can follow the live leaderboard by flight.
Sponsors. GolfEventHQ's sponsor tools are strong behind the scenes. It has a pipeline (Contacted, Proposal Sent, Confirmed, Renewing), packages, logo and asset tracking, recorded payments (sponsor docs), and a "Sponsor This Event" form on the event page (registration docs). Its pages don't say whether sponsor logos appear on the leaderboard. GolfTeeFlow shows sponsor logos on the leaderboard and in TeePlayer. Directors can add a sponsor's logo and info themselves, or send a secure sponsor-only portal link where the sponsor adds its logo and a promotional link and sees key event info.
How do formats, flights, and pairings compare?
Formats. GolfEventHQ lists "Scramble, Best Ball, or Stroke Play," and supports multi-round events (event builder docs).
Flights. GolfEventHQ's pages don't mention flights. In GolfTeeFlow, directors set flights and divisions in the pairings step, including for multi-round events, and results come out by flight.
Pairings and starts. GolfEventHQ auto-assigns starting holes and carts, supports waves, and prints a pairing sheet and cart signs with each team's scoring QR code (teams and players docs). In GolfTeeFlow, directors set pairings by hand, auto-generate them, or have the built-in AI assistant change them. For shotgun starts, the director chooses a shotgun or tee-time start and assigns starting holes for the whole field, doubling up holes with A and B groups when there are more than 18 groups. GolfTeeFlow also generates each event's print pack from the same setup: cart signs, hole-sponsor signs, skill-contest cards, scorecards with the scoring QR code, and a flyer. The printed materials update automatically when pairings change.
Which fits a course running a lot of events?
That's where the two tools differ most.
GolfEventHQ is built around running individual events well. GolfTeeFlow also covers the rest of the course calendar:
- Leagues with season scheduling, round-robin play, playoffs, and in-house handicaps (not GHIN).
- Member-guests with round-robin, points-based scoring.
- Outside chairs. The course can assign an outside chair, such as a charity organizer or corporate contact, to run an event. The chair manages that event's registrations, teams, and sponsors without seeing the rest of the club's calendar or data.
- Phone and pro-shop registration alongside online sign-up.
- An optional tee sheet on the annual plan.
GolfEventHQ's pages don't describe leagues or a tee sheet.

What does neither tool do?
Neither connects to GHIN, and neither has built-in card processing. If you run net events that need handicap lookup or score posting, look at a tool with GHIN. Our golf tournament software guide covers those options.
Which one should you pick?
Pick GolfEventHQ if you run a handful of scrambles, best-ball, or stroke-play events a year, want the lowest price and don't want an app in the mix.
Pick GolfTeeFlow as your GolfEventHQ alternative if you want leagues, outside chairs, a tee sheet, flights, and sponsor logos on the leaderboard and in an app, all on one annual plan. You can see how it works for courses or try it yourself.
GolfTeeFlow vs GolfEventHQ FAQ
Does either GolfTeeFlow or GolfEventHQ process payments? No. Both track who has paid instead of collecting money. With GolfTeeFlow, your course collects by cash, Cash App, Venmo, or your own Stripe or payment link. GolfEventHQ lets staff mark entries "Paid Externally," "Paying at Check-In," or "Refunded Externally," and record sponsor payments. Neither takes a cut of entry fees.
Do golfers need an app? No. GolfEventHQ is browser-only and has no golfer app. Teams score from a QR code on the cart sign. GolfTeeFlow golfers can score in a phone browser through the scorecard QR code, or use TeePlayer, our free iPhone app. Android players use the browser, since there's no Android app.
Which is cheaper, GolfTeeFlow or GolfEventHQ? GolfEventHQ costs less at every event count: $99.99 per event or $1,299 a year (posted prices, checked Oct 2026), against GolfTeeFlow's $199 per event credit or $2,400 a year. On both products, buying per event costs less until you run 13 events a year. At 13 or more, the unlimited plan is cheaper.
Can golfers keep scoring without cell signal? Yes, on both. GolfEventHQ golfers open their scorecard once while they still have signal, then keep entering scores offline, and the scores sync when the connection returns. GolfTeeFlow scoring also works offline. That matters on courses where cell signal drops out on some holes.
Can I run leagues? On GolfTeeFlow, yes. It supports leagues with season scheduling, round-robin play, playoffs, and in-house handicaps, though not GHIN. GolfEventHQ's public pages describe event tools such as registration, check-in, scoring, and sponsors, but don't describe league play. Check with GolfEventHQ directly if leagues matter to you.
Does either connect to GHIN? No. GolfTeeFlow has no GHIN integration. TeePlayer keeps its own non-GHIN handicap, and leagues use in-house handicaps. GolfEventHQ's pages don't mention GHIN, and handicaps are entered by hand at registration or on the Teams page. If your net events need GHIN lookup or posting, consider a tool built around it.
